This book started off really slow for me, I almost put it down but at about 100 pages I got into it. In saying that I feel like it could have been way shorter, often boring in parts. I did love the ending, wasn’t expecting it and the last quarter of the book was a page-turner!

Now THAT is an ending! A magnificent ending to a meandering, often boring read. This would have been much more enjoyable with some shorter paragraphs and chapter breaks.

I almost gave up several times, but stuck with it because it was a book club selection. It finally picked on page 273 and REALLY got going on 417. Whew. What an ending.

This book started slow for me, but maybe a third of the way in, it “took”. I was hooked and engaged. Reminiscent of Overstory, there is environmental disregard (at best) and conflicts inner and outer. A fine read! Don’t let the slow character intros dissuade you. It’s all worth it.
