Liked a lot of this, until the stupid epilogue.

My new favorite author. She captivates me every time. Lotus is an incredible story that I couldn't put down and the plot twists were crazy! I read a recent review on one of her books *Still Beating or June First* saying how the book could have been shorter. I can see why they feel that way, but I wouldn't change it personally. Her three stories *Still Beating, Lotus, and June First* are perfect to me and I loved every second. All 3 books are briefly connected with characters and I love how they appear slightly in each story. It really shows how in life everyone you come in contact with is battling their own battles that not everyone can see. Such incredible stories.

Another emotional read from one of my fave authors. Lotus was great from the start, so much hope and love between our characters. You couldn’t help but root for them.

Twenty two years have passed since Sydney’s heart was stolen from her by her best friend Oliver, the day he was kidnapped. So when Oliver resurfaces as a grown man who can’t remember much of anything except the loneliness of the past two decades locked in a cellar, Sydney is overjoyed. But Oliver had a long road to recovery and Sydney has never truly been able to let anyone in, not since he left.

This story is one of heartbreak, gut wrenching revelations, with a sprinkle of comedic relief. I will say I did not have the same emotional response as I did with Still Beating but there were definitely some tears and absolute shock. I loved that we got to see a glimpse of the characters from Still Beating, that was a nice surprise.

Oliver was such an amazing character. His matter of fact personality along with his attempts at using sarcasm were just so entertaining. I looked forward to his POVs the most.
I did also really love Sydney as a character too. In fact she was very relatable with her love for smutty books and inflated expectations of love. I can only hope one day I’ll find a love like hers and Oliver’s.
