I want to love her books so badly but I don’t. I never like the self centered victim mentality having fmc. I also felt this one was very predictable from the beginning. I just did not like it and it was so long and drawn out for no reason. She may just not be an author my preference. Her writing is good despite not liking the book it did keep me engaged. I think I’m just not meant for her storytelling.

This book is really good. Definitely not one of my favorites from Hartmann, but I really enjoyed it. It had a good ending too. I never get tired of the way that Hartmann uses dialogue in her books. And the way she has characters fall in love❤️
I overall enjoyed this story but there were a lot of missing details and the story was longer than it needed to be. I had 2 chapters left and quit reading because I just wanted it to be over already.

This book was OUTSTANDING! I absolutely adored Oliver. So much.
All of the cute, naïve things he says had me swooning! I rarely notate but I saved so many of his words. How he could turn out the way that he did after all of off the things that he went through was crazy.
This book will truly stay with me. The story interweaves young Sydney and Oliver's story between the present version of them and it was very effective. The plot and all of the details were brilliant, right down to the name of the book. There is suspense with darkness, but out of that comes some resilient characters that I will never forget.
