i am listening to the fairly charming audiobooks of this series because my library has them. these novels are fun in a lowkey way. the characters are much more interesting to me than the skirmishes or the wars.

So I really enjoy Naomi Novik's writing and the world she created with Temeraire. However the pacing felt off in this one. The middle part was just so slow. It was kinda hard to get through. Hopefully the pace picks up in the next book.
