This was my first Kitty King book and it started out with a bang oh my gosh!!! From chapter 2 this book was bringing the spice 👏🏼 Beastly Armory is a Mafia style romance with dark elements and I do mean DARK! Max has returned home to restore his clan and meets up with childhood friend Livia to covertly work together in overcoming and tyrant clan leader.
The push and pull between Max and Livia was great! There was such a heavy tension between the two of them that felt so magnetic! That paired with the suspense of their secret business had me so on edge of not knowing what to expect. You knew Livia wanted to give in but her past and insecurities always held her back.
SO much happened in this book! No joke, it felt almost like a standalone, by the end I was seriously questioning if this was still part of a series. Let me also say this book was quite spicy! For someone who loves smutty books I’d give it a 3.5/5 🌶️ but for those newer to spice it would likely be a full 5.
Aspects I personally did not love thus leading to a 4 ⭐️ (while being as vague as possible) would be 1. how stubborn Livia was to literally everything. There’s a line to being fierce independent and standing up for one’s own morals and values annnnnd then there’s just pure bullheadedness. 2. There was an aspect to the plot that was initially stated where if you do X then Y will be the results and it just never happened? There was so much intensity of not getting caught and it felt as though maybe too much time slipped by before action was taken. 3. The ending. I’m going to be 100% honest and say it did not make sense or even benefit the plot with how it was presented. I can see the benefit of the plot twist in the upcoming books and how it might affect the characters BUT it felt unnecessary. Plus it diminishes all the work the author put into building the FMC’s character too.
With that aside I do look forward to seeing where this story goes next! I was sucked into this story pretty quickly and now I need to know what happens next!

As always, I finish a Kitty King book, and I'm all worked up, hot and bothered, but this one was sexy and sweet. There seemed to be more depth to Max and Livia. I really enjoyed that.
I'm always so intrigued when an author seems to know a lot about the ins and outs of organized crime. There were parts that I thought that Kitty King had to have some kind of inner workings of organized crime. It's a little sus 👀 but also riveting!
This was such an exciting book. I've loved The Color Series and The Wrong Man, but I felt like these characters were more developed. I was distraught when things would happen to these characters (No Spoilers Here). I audibly gasped at least twice.
I am also dying to know what happens next. How could it end like that?!

This is the second book that I have read from Kitty King and she has done blew me away! While I loved the Wrong Man that I read first by her, this book was absolutely top notch!
This is the first book in the compass series and it follows Max and Livia. This book packed so much emotion, depth, and character into paper between covers. Kitty King did an amazing job building the world, developing these characters, and drawing me in, that I was absolutely destroyed seeing the book end. GIVE ME MORE!!!

This book was tough for me. I have not read a dystopian book in a long time and I can honestly say they are not my trope. That being said - I really like Kitty King as an author, her spicy scenes are epic and her characters are strong and complex in the best way!!
If you imagine, a hardcore, strong, kickass FMC who can handle her own and knows how to handle every situation with piercings and a Mohawk combined with a bear of a man coming to take back his rightful place who just wants to make the girl of his dream his in every way while also mobbing around to gather his legacy back - then this is the book for you.
There is spicy scenes, car chases, adventures to restock the armory and secrets of the past that will come back to haunt them all. This is the start of an interconnected series with development of the characters for the next set of books. And even though dystopian is not really my jam, I have added the next ones to my TBR.

Beastly Armory had me hooked from the beginning , it throws you straight into the deep end with Max and Livia and there epic beginning. This book packed so much in such a small amount of time and I can’t wait for the next instalment. The ending definitely made me tear up though what a great twist.

I loved this book! The suspense and mystery had me all over the place! Max is loyal and possessive and desperately wants to the right the wrongs of the past but he finds out there is a cost to everything. He is the perfect shade of morally grey!! Liv is fierce and a total badass who will do anything for her clan…but underneath her tough exterior she
While this is different from her previous books, this is still a Kitty King novel so there are some steamy scenes! And yep, there is even a glory 🕳️
This ends on a cliffhanger and I can’t wait for the next book!!
