I feel kind of silly giving such a "fluff" series four stars, but I really enjoyed reading these books! I can't wait for the fifth book to come on inter library loan.

I almost didn't read this for 2 reasons:

1. The cover. Yuck.

2. The first chapter felt exactly like Harry Potter only with girls in a spy school. I thought it might dampen my view of Hogwarts.

I did enjoy this fun story, tho'. And the fun Harry Potter-i-ness (silly spy backstories, weapons/supplies/language/etc.) of it, ended up being one reason I liked it.

I'll at least read the 2nd book in the series when I need something quick and fun!

The YA romance was very benign and I really liked how their relationship ends in this book.

Update 2020: I decided to pick this up again b/c I wanted something fun to read and browsing YA book covers is overwhelming. Also, I wanted to see what I thought about passing it on to my 14yo. First of all, I'm surprised at how "meh" my 1st review was b/c I adored the rest of these books and have gushed about them so much. So, maybe if you just thought this book was OK, power thru to the 2nd, etc. b/c the rest of the series is SO FUN and so less about boys/dating. Secondly, this is definitely appropriate for a 14yo if they already read books about dating/kissing. It is very very tame. It feels like a bridge between MG and YA. Third: I'm upping my rating to 4 stars b/c I want to be a Gallagher Girl.

Tried to do too much at once imo. Interesting, but much weaker than the first one I read.

(everyone ignore this, give me some privacy, and pretend it didn’t happen ok)

Love it! Cammie and Josh's relationship is so cute. The only reason it has a three star rating is because it's kinda slow and boring compared to the other books. Still my comfort series.

I enjoyed the book, it was funny and lighthearted. I did not enjoy the narration, it felt like the narrator was using too young of a voice for the main character.

Very cute YA novel. The end had a moment where I actually laughed out loud. Left me looking forward to next book.

A girls' school for spies is missing only one thing: boys.

A fairly straightforward, light beach-read type of book, very much an excellent page turner. Meant for those days when you need the world to take itself elsewhere for a while--a bag of kettle corn, as it were.

I enjoyed this and it did exactly what it meant to do. Recommended if you need a palate refresher from the universe.
