This book is fluffy, but fun. There were few times that I found it tedious, and I actually laughed out loud at some points. It kept me entertained for a week.

Absolutely horrible. Insufferable main character. Was recommended to me because the main character is fat, but at least as far as I got, it was very fat negative and focused on weight loss. Could not even get past chapter 4
Probably one of the best chick-lit books I've ever read. It fulfilled its job as a light read I desperately needed, but it also managed to surprise me with its message. I enjoyed following Cannie throughout her transformation (and I liked the fact that she didn't end up skinny). Don't really have much else to say, as the book was just good chick-lit.
I do need to say, however, that you would think the publisher would have weeded out all the errors in grammar and consistency considering how many reprints this title has been through. A bad copy edit can sometimes take away from the reading....

i found this at value village and read it in a couple days even tho it was quite long. it was a pretty good read—definitely engaging and made me think a lot about my relationship (for better or for worse). sometimes it felt dated in its humor/morals but that’s probably because it’s as old as i am. overall, it was a fun easy read about a woman’s relationship with men and a world that fundamentally hates her as a fat woman.

Ohhh boy. I wanted to like this. And didn't even a little bit. At no point does the main character become loveable or not a victim. And the surprise pregnancy trope is just my LEAST favorite storyline. And the randomness of her ex. Like she constantly thinks he'd be a good dad but then he literally doesn't show up until his new girlfriend hurts her? And the early delivery, NICU situation is so just too much after an already crazy book. Not a fan. A little worried that I have 4 more books by this author since I found them in a used bookstore.
Actually I didnt finish this book, didnt get near finished. But for me, 5 chapters was enough to tell me this book wasn't what I thought it was going to be.. what I thought of the summary was oh cool! A cute light read, finish in a day, a lil bit of girl power, a lil bit of romance. Instead what I got was 5 chapters of Cannie complaining about how sad her life was, how all she wanted was her boyfriend back and how boring her job was. And obviously I know 5 chapters is quite early to just quit the book but not only was the opening -not as good as I thought it was- it also didnt seem like it was building up to anything good. So be cautious and read at your own risk :))
I put off reading this book for the longest time. I just didn't see myself as the chick lit type. After I finally picked it up, I couldn't put it down. I enjoyed it very much.
