The way this book switches between modern day and the late 1700s is done really well, and I enjoyed seeing the parallels in each of the character’s stories. My main gripe is with the ending,

I didn’t really relate to her choice in the end as someone who’s also interested in preserving history. The mysterious and magical resolution was whimsical though which I enjoyed.
