This is an atrocious book. It makes single women who aren't supermodel thin appear as lovestruck morons munching on potato chips and downing bottles of wine trying to seduce men they couldn't give a tinker's damn about just to see if it makes them happy. A pox on your house Helen Fielding! And to all the women out there who applaud her efforts and say she tells it like it is. If that is the case then y'all need to get out more!

Umm, not totally funny, only points go to Bridget's failures (which was what it's supposed to entertain about so that's fair), it did make the overall book quite work. Jones was such a hopeless romantic Brit in her 30s. But there were a few boring and flat parts as well. I only shared a few laughs around November until the end.
On the other hand, what I particularly liked about the story was the solidarity between their friendship and family. That I think was the core of this whole diary thing; the hell with Jones' love life, haha. I'd wish to have a Tom as well, such sweet best friend.
MOVIE REVIEW: Zellweger and Hugh Grant nailed Bridget Jones and Daniel bloody hot Cleaver. ;)

3.5 stars. This is hilarious and relatable and terribly eating disorder inducing. Bridget had better be 5 foot nothing if everyone's commenting on her weight at 125 pounds. And even then, stop commenting! The internal monologue/diary is one thing, the pressure from others is absurd.
