Read this book back in high school. Marked it 3-stars because I don't remember liking it but not LOVING it like I do some of his other works.

This has got to be one of the stupidest books I have ever attempted to read.

2.5

5 out of 5 stars.

How is Stephen King so freaking talented?
Seriously.

This story was so freaking good. I loved it so much. It was tense and creepy, the characters were well-developed, and everything felt realistic. And that is saying something when talking about a story about a possessed car.

I chose this book for my monthly book club, as we had chosen the topic of transport and I had this book at home waiting to be read. I had a lot of anticipation as I had just read misery by Stephen King and loved it.
I liked this book but found it was quite drawn out, I felt like instead of the 600 pages it could have been half that. And because of its length i found myself getting bored sometimes.
All in all a good story, and would be recommended, but don't think it for everyone not everyone would have the patience with it.

In an effort to climb out of a reading slump, I recently picked up to the audiobook of Christine. I often revisit Stephen King’s works. King’s earliest books are a guilty pleasure for me, a palette cleanser. I return for his lively characters, his descriptions of horrific events, and his weird ideas. Christine is a favorite. No, Christine isn’t his best, but just like Arnie, I’ve fallen in love with Christine too.

I was recommended this and can now say I am grateful for the recommendation !

The credibility of this book for me is honestly up there with other Stephen King classics like The Shining and IT. The plot was classic King, with a fantastically clear era portrayed in the 70s which shined brilliantly with the suspense and fear which came along with the book.

The trio of main characters were strongly written, with a love-hate relationship for almost all three. Although you are clearly rooting for one character, his flaws and actions are clear in the novel making him well-rounded and realistic, tying in nicely with the overall frightening plot.

Highly recommend for those who are a fan of King's work. Or just horror/thriller novels in general.

Honestly, one of my favorite endings to a SK novel.
