Jade War picks up where City ended and continues to be absolutely amazing. The scale gets bigger, with other countries playing a bigger role, but it is still very character driven.

Waiting for my Broken Binding Copy of Legacy to arrive to finish the trilogy, which is well on its way to become one of my favourite fantasy series of all time.

I read Jade City with a grain of salt, it's not my usual pick, but after hearing Fonda on a literary festival I just had to try. And I loved it, so I am reading the whole series of course. To me, this one is even better than Jade City if that is even possible. The character growth in here is huge. Every single character undergoes to so many changes they all feel real and absolutely flawed.
I love the way she gives women power without disguising them as men, and at the same time I love the softer side of Hilo once he starts caring for the younger ones. Hilo's changes are so impressive.
How can I convince you to read it? Well, it's well written for starters, it's a fantasy but it will appeal also to thriller readers or to family saga readers as well as these elements are so well combined they are intervowen.
Just trust me, read it. It's worth it!

This series is unhinged. I love it. How could it possibly be anything less than 5 stars?

The amount of whiplash & heartache that I felt in book one was magnified x2 in this one. This series is not for the faint of heart… it’s heavy and wild.

The characters are incredible. Every single one of them is so flawed and layered which makes them so much more real to me. I feel like I am aging with them through all of this crap they having to go through though GEEZ.

I swear if anything happens to Hilo & Anden in book 3 I. will. lose. it.

4.5 stars - saw someone saying this book felt like watching someone set up dominoes for 600 pages but really it felt like fonda lee tied me to a chair and beat the living daylights out of me for 600 pages. i fear how this series will end

For a book where the future is so uncertain, and so easily changed by the results of incredible violence, all of the characters are so incredibly HUMAN. Absolutely delightful. A slow burn at the beginning, and then action packed for the entire back half. I can't wait to get my hands on book 3.
