I love the idea of 'the butterfly effect', but I don't like the idea of a book existing that misinforms readers about the term and its meaning.

The informations about the people mentioned are correct and great examples, but it was NEVER mentioned in this book how it can also effect BADLY. It was only displayed in a good way, making one think, the butterfly effect is only good. It is not. And it never will be. The butterfly effect is something dangerous and yet fascinating. Every action someone takes, no matter how 'important' they are, it matters. And it can change the word drastically. Not only in good, like the book pictured it. I do count this as misinformation, as one who doesn't know anything about the butterfly effect would believe it's only good. Only great things could happen. That's not the truth and not what the butterfly effect is about.

Other points that influenced my rating:
• Too many pictures
• Too many examples (not explaining in depth enough what the butterfly effect itself is and the examples were all too much connected and not different)
• Examples are only from America, no other country
• Too much poetic writing than information
• Over priced (has not enough pages for it, to cost over 10>$)
• Message didn't come through (after reading didn't give me the 'woah' feeling or like what I read was actually important)

The book is really short, will take approximately 15-20 minutes to finish it, so if you want to have a quick inspirational read you could read it. But to get to know the butterfly effect itself I would recommend reading something else.

There are times when I reflect on my life and wonder if the things that I do or say matter. When I read the title of this book my curiosity was piqued - my life does matter and here is a book to explain why. The Butterfly Effect is a compact gift book filled with beautiful pictures, large text, and encouraging words about the interconnectedness of our lives. Andy Andrews uses real life examples of some famous, and some not-so-famous people, to illustrate how the choices that we make have far reaching effects. Often, farther reaching then we could have ever anticipated or imagined. There are consequences to our actions that have the potential to change the world.

I enjoyed reading through this book. It took only a few minutes because the text is large print and concise, but the author really gets his point across. It made me consider how my seemingly insignificant acts matter and can change the course of history. A great little reminder of how each person is important. This would make a great coffee table book. The pictures alone make it worth the read, not to mention the encouragement of the text.

I received a copy of this book from Thomas Nelson Publishers as part of their book review bloggers program. I was not required to write a positive review; the opinions expressed are my own. I really liked the message of this book, which is an extension of the scientific idea that a butterfly flapping its wings in Thailand could cause a hurricane across the world.

The butterfly effect is more than just a scientific principle however, in that it speaks to our own lives as humans as well. The actions we take today and everyday have a domino effect on the lives of others, be it in the present or for future generations. \

While I liked the message of this book, I wasn't a huge fan of the scrapbook-style layout. It kind of diminished the importance of the message a bit I think.\

1) Rating: 5 out of 5

2) Genre: Inspirational

3) Synopsis: Can a butterfly flapping its wings on the other side of the planet cause a hurricane? If yes then imagine the impact people can have.

4) Feelings: This is a very short book, which is really its only flaw. It tells a couple of stories about how one action by one person lead to amazing things. I really like the concept just wish they had more stories. Plus it says the butterfly effect is a scientific law now. I imagine that is right but how on earth did they prove it.

5) Final recommendation: Well worth the read but it, seriously only take like 5 to 10 minutes to read it. Maybe if there is a sequel it will have more stories.
