I enjoyed this book a lot! There was murder, mystery, and a bit of romance. The story overall was great, it kept me entertained and I really engaged. The character development in this story was very well done.

I am a big Jennifer Weiner fan anyway, but I really liked her "new" direction here. Cannot believe I did not make the name connection right away, but kudos for dropping it ;) no spoilers.

Upfront DNF! This book started out decent, got really annoying, stayed annoying, then got worse.
I was expecting a chick lit where she digs into her friends past and suddenly all these problems and indiscretions come to light. But all that is laid bare and told to you throughout the book. It turned into a Scooby-Doo mystery about 60 % through and I just couldn't. It just got too stupid. But the most annoying part is how obsessed the main character is w her weight. Im a big girl. I always have been. Always got made fun of for it, was always passed over for dates bc of my skinnier friends. I dieted, I worked out. Low confidence, low self esteem through my mid twenties. But never, NEVER, have I been as weight obsessed as this main character. I never immediately scanned a room to see if I was the fattest. I never avoided mirrors bc I have a pretty face and awesome hair. I always wore clothes that fit me so even being bigger I always felt like I looked good. And after my mid 20s I said I'm totally OK w being big and now I have great confidence and self esteem bc it shouldn't matter what you look like, we all deserve love and happiness. But this main character? Her entire world revolves around her being fat. Im embarrassed FOR her. She puts on this mask of body positivity but doesn't actually feel any of it and I just ended up feeling bad for her. She's a liar and a fraud and should get off social media.

I wish absolutely not was an option. These characters were not lovable I don't even really understand what the point of this book was. I mean it was a murder mystery...I guess. But all the interesting plot points happened in like the last 20 pages and the killer and the reveal didn't even make sense. A lot of things didn't make sense. I am so confused and disappointed. Honestly 2 stars may be too generous. I might change it

3.5 stars. Quick read! Didn't expect it to involve a murder-mystery (didn't read the description haha), enjoyed the body positivity theme, and the splash of romance. Liked the mystery up until the end, then it just seemed a bit much...
