This book was good, but did not live up to my very high expectations set after reading Mrs. Everything. It was a light murder mystery, not a sweeping social commentary.
I also had some nitpicky issues around timing and years. I was born the same year as the characters, so it’d really stand out to me when their graduation class was listed as 2 years before mine, or they talk about seeing Cats on Broadway in high school when it had been closed since I was in Kindergarten.

Started and finished date - 11.08.25 to 13.08.25.
My rating - Three Stars.
This book was okay read and I enjoyed some parts of book but I didn't love it also I think people who like the wedding people by Alison Espach or the summer pact by Emily Giffin may like is book. The cover of book was simple but stunning. The writing was fine and the writing was took some time get used to also the ending of book was okay.
Both the romance and the atmosphere was fine bit bland also the mystery was fine but needed to flash out bit more. The paced of plot was well structured and steady paced. I have mixed about the characters and I found it difficult to like the characters but I would have like them to be flash out bit more

I don’t understand why this turned into a mystery novel halfway through the book.
More of a 3.5 but it should come with trigger warnings for eating disorders and body shame/self image issues.
definitely doesnt need to be read a third time. writing was okay, characters were annoying and predictable
Daphne is a plus-sized influencer, who grew up being made fun of for her weight and her insecurities. Now, she has lots of followers to who she tries to be a positive influence. Her nemesis, Drue Cavanaugh, who was mean to pretty much everyone in school, has now asked her to be a bridesmaid. Drue plans to marry Stuart, who was on a Bachelor-type show. This promises to be the biggest wedding of the season. Daphne wants to forgive her friend, but she also looks forward to getting more followers. It also doesn’t hurt that there might be some rich, eligible men at this fancy wedding in Cape Cod. What starts out as a story about women’s relationships morphs into a murder mystery. I have to say that I almost DNF’d the book during the first half. There were a lot of sad stories and repetition about her plus size, which wasn’t all that fascinating. However, the second half with the murder mystery I found much more interesting. I would give the first half 2 stars and the second half 4 stars, which averages to 3 stars.
