I wish the book would spend more time with the protagonist, but i am still giving a high note for the amazing attention to detail that was given by the team. It was super fun to go through the pages looking at the smaller stuff, and to read the "magazine" at the end. It really fleshed out the universe more.

It’s weird, wacky, and my kind of graphic novel. I loved the premise and artwork and fake ads. Definitely will be checking out more of this series.

Was not expecting the story line. I found it humorous and a lot like Bitch Planet. I would describe it as a preteen or teenage, sci-fi/dystopia-light set on Earth, and Bitch Planetesque graphic.

I might call this a political scifi comic. When at puberty, many girls with a certain infection turn into big cats, hungry for male blood. Precautions are taken to prevent this mutation, strengthening the patriarchy by segregating boys and girls, including their drinking water. I think the comic is sooo well done, except the fourth issue being a faux magazine of the world. I have to wonder tho- why not just get rid of cats instead of doing this to girls? I suppose this is just part of the satirical point. But still.
I look forward to reading more, and I'm hoping exploration of gender is included in the future... how does this impact transitioning people?

I still would not want to have my period. But turning into a panther is pretty awesome.

ETA: I recently read some reviews calling into question the ways this focuses only on cis bodies. I don’t know if the author is a terf (trans exclusionary radical feminist), but I can see the criticism. Everything in the story is determined by biology, but there is no mention of whether trans people change. Cis women aren’t the only people with periods. I hope that future issues have more plot and a broader, inclusive world. I wanted to add this to my review for clarity. Thanks to various reviewers/authors on Twitter for reminding me to step outside of my privileged, cis worldview. (6/9/2019)

What would the world look like if teen girls could turn into giant, man-eating cats when they menstruate? This dystopian world sees periods vilified, young girls even more tightly controlled and a hilarious slew of estrogen-free products targeting boys and men. I can hardly wait to read more.
Recommended for fans of Bitch Planet.

There’s potential in this story. I like the menstruation themes and the art style is right up my alley. The fake ads breaking up the story somewhat confused me and although the last issue on this volume was interesting but it really broke the flow of the story...it was just getting great!

I don’t know what to say about the writing team tho, as I just got and read this comic when the Chelsea Cain tweet scandal broke. I truly hope she’s not a TERF, but if it turns out she is, I’m not gonna continue reading these.
