Everyone seems so bad at their jobs. And I absolutely would not want her as a clan leader ???? If I was bowing and that’s how she acted I would get the ick so bad and stand right tf back up

Um ok so this is probably the best sapphic vampire book I’ve ever read haha. True enemies to lovers, vampire/vampire hunter, she’s her bodyguard, nonstop action, a REALLY intriguing plot with a twist at the end that had me GASPING at my kindle.
Just read this. OMFG.
"I hate you," I whispered.
“Prove it. You don't feel like you hate me.”
"I hate you." She gave me a smile, showing she didn't believe me one bit.

first-- LOVE a vampire lesbian romance. and second-- RUINED ME.
The entire story was amazing. Despite the small grammatical/spelling mistakes throughout, the writing was extremely enjoyable and I loved the story. I loved the characters, how they actually felt like people with opinions and morals (some worse than others) and how neither side (vampires vs. the Order) is the good guy. This is the first lesbian vampire romance that I've read that read WELL, that felt real and emotional and not just like a straight guy writing lesbian porn.
The story leans on the angst side, with positive moments spread throughout but mixed with bittersweet intentions or hiding from the future. Also ended on a fairly negative cliffhanger, and as someone that needs a positive story with a positive ending to feel happy, this ending, well, ruined me. I stared at the screen for 20 seconds before pulling up goodreads to write this review. There were many times reading this that I thought, "If they just worked together, it could have worked out," and that type of feeling is so painful that, if I didn't LOVE how the story was written and progressing, I might have pulled away from reading it. Keir's habit of turning important conversations into sex also started to get to me after a while, but I love Keir and she can simply do no wrong (okay, she may have done a little wrong but all for what she thought was the best).
Not many of the questions throughout the story are answered by the end of the book-- I assume that's what the sequel is for, but as someone who has a very hard time reading anything past the first book in literally any series (especially if they're not out yet, like this one), none of my questions were answered and they probably won't be.
Okay, I think I should stop ranting about how much closure I didn't get, and maybe in the future I'll be able to pick the sequel up (if my heart can take it).

Sapphic, vampire romantasy that I flew through. Overall I loved the enemies to lovers storyline, found the world and plot interesting and looking forward to book 2.
