This book is full of your typical teenage to adult hood drama of a young woman. Who experiences heartache, loss, and hardship, as well as happiness. Mia is a strong willed very kind and loyal person. She is always there for her best friends even when things are going crappy for her own life.
There is adventure, romance, drama, and action mafia based in this story.
I would definitely recommend this. It had me reading non stop and wanting more as I read.
I will warn if you read this book your going to want to have the second book on standby. There is a major clifhanger and boy am I glad I had the second book so I could continue on to find out what happened.
Enjoy and happy reading.

Editing needed badly

One of my biggest pet peeves is when an author attempts to write a series in another country and doesn’t change HOW they write. Changing spelling isn’t the only thing you have to change when you take a British author and write an American book. Here’s the thing: I’m American, but I’ve lived in England. The words we use are quite different. Things like “taking a shower” (American) versus “having a shower” (British).

While the overall storyline is compelling, I couldn’t get past the very obvious misuse of British English. I won’t continue with this series because I just can’t stomach the writing.

MMC/FMC- Hudson/Mia
POV- 1st person dual
Genre- Mafia Romance
Sub Genre- Stepbrother Romance
Sub Genre- New Adult Romance
Heat level- steamy, they do the thing
Series- Y (Book One)
Cliffhanger? Y
HEA/HFN? N
Triggers- morally gray, violence, language, explicit erotic content, kidnapping
Tropes- Virgin Heroine, Antihero, Alpha Male, Forbidden Love, Dysfunctional Families FTW
What I liked- The two main characters had chemistry. And Hudson was not afraid to call the parents out for their mistakes. I also liked the relationship between Mia and her girl friends. And I loved to hate Tina- she is a manipulative rhymes-with-witch.
What I think could be better- some of this book could have been edited so that this book and its sequel could be one volume. Some scenes felt like they were written to stretch the story.
Verdict- Recommended. This book was entertaining and has me on the hook to read the conclusion.

I have mixed feelings about this book. On the one hand I liked the taboo tropes and thought the mysteriousness of it all was fun. On the other hand, I thought some of the characters were too young and immature. It felt like a lot of the book was arguing rather than developing relationships. Some of the writing choices also seemed super old fashioned to me. I liked how fast paced it was and I was invested in what was happening for sure. It had a nice balance of the drug lord plot while also having strong friendships and some lighter notes. I am curious about the next book since this one ended on a cliffhanger and excited to see how Mia and Hudson progress!

I received Forbidden List in a book box. I had never heard of it before, but of course gave it a shot! This was not my fave read, but let’s talk about it.

Solid 3.5!

I love a good cliffhanger! Lol don’t know what it is about em
but they get me all giddy and excited!

Great book, love reading Brook Summers! Mia & Hudson and like a love potion for each other. A quick one-night-stand turns into a yearning that only they can fill for each other and it’s hot I tell ya!

I can’t quite put my finger on how I feel about Mias mom, Tina, she’s so cunning and selfish! She literally could be the cause of all the problems. If she’s the snake, she’s absolutely bitten everyone!

Cant wait to read book two!
