Musím přiznat, že mě to překvapivě sedlo. Pravděpodobně však hlavně kvůli příběhu. Dark fantasy mám ráda, a tak jsem neodolala a do čtení této knihy se pustila.
První třetina byla super, měla spád, energii i atmosférou, postavám nechyběla chemie a dynamika. Bohužel však příběh s postupem času trochu zvláčněl. Ne že bych se vyloženě nudila, ale mé nadšení o poznání opadlo. Druhý dech pak nabral v samotném konci, který však byl přeci jen až příliš uspěchaný.
Pro mě je tohle žánr, na který musím mít náladu, a i tak bych s klidem několik erotických scén vynechala. Přeci jen preferuji více příběhu. I tak si ale ráda přečtu i další díly této série, už jen proto, že mě zajímají osudy a pohnutky ostatních postav.

Dark. Twisted. Absolutely depraved, in the best way. 👀🔥
Harley Laroux did NOT hold back with Her Soul to Take. The tension? Unmatched. The build-up? Torture in the most delicious way. The spice? 🌶️🌶️🌶️ enough to ruin me. And the way he’s all “you are mine” 🫠🖤 I could not put this book down, and now I need the rest of the series immediately.

It was an entertaining read for sure, but the plot was wobbly and filled with holes. That's fine if that's not why you're reading this book. The romance isn't too bad, and I did enjoy most of the characters. The depiction of the old god was cool, creepy, and very Lovecraft. I loved Cheesecake the most! I'm happy he made it through everything too.
