Reread, just 'cause.

Like everyone else, I can't help but compare this to the film. The Miyazaki is a capital-R Romance; this is a rom-com. Both are wonderful.

So Good! So different from the movie, but in many ways the same. Howl was just as interesting and dashing as he was in the movie (voiced by Christian Bale in the English version, so hot!!!).
The plot was much more laid out and thick than in the movie where I spent a lot of time slightly confused. It was a wonderful read and for anyone who likes fantasy will like this book, I think.

Wonderful!

an absolute joy to read cover to cover. with or without the nostalgia and love of the film, this is a gorgeous story with well fleshed out and lovable characters all around, easy humour & a lovely setting. howl himself has 10 times more depth to him than i expected, making him both more annoying & much more lovable. sophie & howl’s dynamic is the og enemies (they bicker) to lovers (they always choose each other). the plot is brilliantly complex, surprising & wraps up so perfectly by the end. one of the most enjoyable reads in a long long time

I finished listening to this on the tram and honestly it had me smiling and kicking my feet - it’s just that good! First time listening to it and it really added to the experience, Kristin Atherton does a superb job.
