Grave Destiny was pretty intriguing! I really enjoyed how the focus was on Faerie business and how the world-building expended and became more complex because of that. The main mystery plot did take a while to come together, as in the previous book, but it was unique enough that it kept me interesting and wanting to know what was going on.

I'm still really not a fan of the romance here. I loved Dugan, though :(

As good as the others were! But
Spoiler her father mystery is driving me insane! Is he the high court king? or something else? Maybe an Unseelie? I'm so damn curious!

This was a quick read and a pretty solid addition to the series. The first time I read this book back in 2019 I gave it 4* but when I re-read it this year I bumped it down to three stars. It was interesting and easy to read but it just didn't stun me as much as previous books in the series did.

I'm still not a fan of Falin and that detracted me from the overall plot. Also, it feels very weird to be reading a series with a love triangle, I rarely come across them now but this series was started when they were booming so I suppose it makes sense. Alex is a solid, entertaining urban fantasy character and I still enjoy her.

I’m so happy with this book! I love this series it’s different and is always a fun read. Alex is a awesome character and I’ve loved watching her develop and grow and see her journey.

A little disappointed, but not bad.

If you follow the series than maybe you’ve become aware of the overarching trend away from its foundation into the more mundane.

It still has some of the investigative, detective, dead, grave elements from the first two or three books but this book number 6 has only its last gasps.

It was surprisingly short book.

The mystery was good but the solutions were more given than investigated. Minor characters turned out to be major characters for the convenience and to save time.

This book wasn’t really about the Mystery.
It was about learning about the Faery world.

Most of the characters from the prior books have been abandoned and forgotten for Faeries.

I remember the first few book which were much more of the detective genre, but little by little, with each passing book, it’s becoming just another faery book.

What was once an aside has taken over the series almost completely. I can only assume the next book or two will fully abandon the series’s premise.

This book had some tropes, some plot cheats by the author, and one of two grammatical issues, but these are minor problems.

But still, the characters are the same and enjoyable. The fading elements are still present and enjoyable. The love drama is fun and silly. The Magic is still great and fun and sometimes laughably silly.

An element I enjoy in this series, and still true here, is that it still hasn’t become ridiculous or crass or overly erotic.

I may read one more after this, out of loyalty, but it’s a little sad that it’s beginning to show signs of wear and tear so common in urban fantasy series.

It just makes me appreciate how J.K. Rowling was able to do it with her 7 books.

I thoroughly enjoyed this one. Falin and Dugan got to have some personalities and Alex got to be smart. I'm really excited for the final book!!

Finished this in no time. So excited for every installation in this series, and looking forward to the last book! My only complaint is that sometimes Alex gets thrust into the damsel in distress role, but her budding new powers and character growth have pushed her along well.
