I have not been so drawn in to a book and shocked by the ending, as I was by this book, in a long time.
Jamaica Inn is a book to read and I cannot read more of Daphne du Maurier's books soon enough!

I love Daphne and I literally like this book, but something just feels missing to me. It has great suspense, drama, twists and turns, I think I just didn't really feel attached to the plot or the characters. I'm much more drawn to Manderley than Jamaica Inn.

Definitely a page-turner, and a must-read mystery/thriller.

I really wished Mary would have just turned her back and headed south at the end instead of joining Jem! But I guess that would be the 21st century version and not of the time
