I really like both characters. I might even re-read it. The spice was pretty great. Just almost a whole book of edging.

Kiss of a Demon King brings us back to what makes a Kresley Cole good. TBH, I was quite hesitant about picking this series back up after the disaster that was Cadeon's story, however I'm glad my bestie Isabel forced me.
This book was just pure smut, with some wholesome feelings growing in between consensual sexual torture. The joy of reading a book about fated mates and romance books is that you're guaranteed a HEA, so you just KNOW that what you're going through in the book is going to lead somewhere good.
Sabine was just an absolute joy to read in all her terror. Rydstrom was also a joy to read in all of his rigidity. They both learn how to let go what they need to let go of, and where they'll end up and how it matches both of their desires and wants.
I'm now back on the Immortals After Dark train, and I'm hyped to get to Lothaire in the future!

I love how mean they were to each other!!! And then so happy 🥰
ReRead #1: If I thought Cadeon and Holly were mismatched, then Rydstrom and Sabine take the cake. This installment is definitely in my top 3 for IAD (I hope I haven't said this more than 3 times obviously), and next to Nucking Futs, Sabine is my favorite heroine. She is such an unapologetic villain that she makes me laugh out loud. Rydstrom and Sabine have an excellent build up to their romance, and some hot BDSM-like moments on the way.
Rydstrom Woede: King of the Rage Demons; One half of The Woede
Relations: Cadeon Woede
Sabine, Queen of Illusions: Sorceri
Relations: Melanthe (Sorceri), Omort the Deathless,
Groot the Metalurgist

3.5 stars. I liked this one, but it took ‘enemies to lovers’ to a whole other level and I’m not sure how I feel about it at the moment.
Overall it was decently paced, but I feel like the endings of this series are usually rushed through. I wouldn’t have minded if they were a tad longer so the ending were a little more fleshed out.
Still liked it, but not my favorite.
