It was a chore to get through and honestly wanted to DNF but pushed through. I really hated the way the male protagonist (can’t even remember their names) got physically violent towards other people. I can handle the jealously trope only so much. I also really found the FMC frustratingly dumb for no reason “wait, guys find me attractive?” Just so dumb and it was a continuation throughout the entire story.

I know I need to DNF a book but hen I dread picking up my kindle. I made it to 67% before I gave myself permission to quit. This is the second book by this author I have not liked, so maybe she just isn’t for me.

I need to give up on Meghan brandy. I really liked “fake it til you make it” and “say you swear” was good, but all other books have been a disappointment. There is a certain “I’m not like other girls” feeling that the fmc gives in most of her books that is hard to overlook. I also do not like how a lot of the dialogue comes off an unnatural and very cliche, especially when it comes to the friends in the books.
I wasn’t expected the mafia to get involved in this book, however it was kind of a pleasant surprise because it made the book a little more interesting. Basically the scenes with Crew and Davis together was good and fun, however as soon as the other plot was involved (like the friends, not Memphis cause that was actually interesting) it became so boring.

The only dilemma is whether to finish this story because it is so ridiculous.

Crew was Davis bro best friend. They have known each other since they were younger. They fell out of friendship but she always thought about him. Davis is like a nerd and always thinking logically so she gets the great idea to ask him for help for something 🤭. Their relationship was stilted for a lot of the time but Crew could not let someone else have her. Secrets and lies come out and Davis has to come to some daunting realizations.
