God. I don’t even know how to rate this book.
Never in my life did i think I would be so willing to fight for a french man.
The main character is rude, arrogant and generally unpleasant to be around. And yet, Jean endures, and he survives.
He starts off the book wanting to die, with a target on his back 3 broken ribs, torn LCL, broken nose, broken fingers, aquaphobia, fear of anyone in his space. He doesn’t have anything to fight for, but has a handfull of people who will claw him out of the maw of the raven’s nest.
The book ends with him having people he genuinely cares about, rally around him, healed in all the ways that don’t matter and starting to heal in the ways that do.

JEAN MY POOR BOY. This book is tragic and i love Jean so much. I thought i would miss Neil as a narrator more and i did but it was interesting seeing the characters through Jean and Jeremy’s eyes instead. Jean’s description of Neil and Andrew was great and so poetic omg.
I am not sorry for the suffering some of the bad Ravens had to go through and I hate what they did to Jean, both his abuse and their ignorance and lack of care for his pain. I can’t believe that they didn’t know something worse was going on.
I am moving onto the next book immediately and hoping that Jean gets past some of his trauma with some help from the sunshine court. His finger counting the good things makes me tear up he’s too cute.
