I've really enjoyed all the previous books in this series but this one was disappointing. I found it repetitive and with too many characters all introduced in a short space of time. There were fewer appearances by characters that the books ahd previously met and about whom I had enjoyed reading. The plot was okay - although very easy to guess who was the villain.

A fete at Finchmere opens the estate to artisans, stalkers and murders. As the bodies pile up, Nel and Rav realise the danger is too close to comfort and it’s a race against the clock to ensure that as many as possible survive.
I found this episode a tad grittier than the previous instalments with the characters growing. The nature based solution is again satisfying but this feels darker and more tense than the other Nel Ward stories. Really enjoyed this one.
