A speed listen . . . My key takeaway as a Christian: why, as a nation of primarily non-believers with an ultra-pervasive welfare state, are Danes such a happy folk?
I believe hygge as explained in the the book - an untranslatable coziness encompassing sweet and simple moments embodies elements of Biblical wisdom for the good life:

1) relationships - hygge is often shared
2) gratitude and simplicity - hygge revels in contentment rather than one-up-manship and acquisition
3) food - feasting and provision are community-building gifts of God
4) creativity - thrifted and handmade things are more hygge-ly than shiny modern ones.

P.S. Danes delight in warm candlelight, which contrasts the gray dark of their typical weather conditions.
