Cute story. A few things could have been more explored (the book store) b otherwise it was mostly enjoyable.
Penelope was really hard to like. Maybe listening to it on audio gives a different perspective than reading the page, but I was not rooting for her.
She does improve by the end of the book but she was insufferable.

4.5 stars. This was exactly what I needed to read right now. Family drama around the holidays is so relatable. I found this light and fun—the perfect read before a Thanksgiving gathering with family. I will seek out more from Brooke Abrams in the future.

This book had everything and more, the main characters, the story, the dynamics, the grandma!!!! It was hilarious, it was romantic, my heart hurted with the FMC's journey and learning. This story left me wanting more because I was so invested with all of them. 🌟
