I knew I was going to love this after just a few pages when Penelope's elderly dog, Ozzie, was introduced since I also have a geriatric mutt named Ozzy! Besides that, this is such a cute little rom-com. It gives off The Proposal with Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds vibes but only as far as the fake dating and sassy grandma. Oh how I loved Nana Rosie's character in Penelope in Retrograde! I hope I'm half as cool as her when I'm in my nineties!

I am super not into astrology, so I had reservations, but I found the astrological references were not too heavyhanded.
The main character is human and relatable. And so was having a family dynamic that can bring out the worst in everyone. This book is definitely a comedy and I laughed through the whole book, but it also has a lot of poignant moments that brought tears to my eyes.
Very quick, fun read.

Hilarious read. I’m not sure I’d call the romance the central focus of the book, but it was still incredibly enjoyable. It unexpectedly also made me shed a few tears. No spice.
