A cute Thanksgivingy story...

I was intrigued by one of the blurbs: "An ex-husband, a fake boyfriend, and a snarky, weed-growing grandma are just a few of the guests at the Banks’s family Thanksgiving that make Brooke Abrams’s debut unputdownable."

I was immediately in when I read the first line: "If it wasn't for the Smut Coven, I wouldn't be here right now."

Honestly, though, I got a little bothered about half way through. It seemed repetitive and whiny...but the storyline held my attention, and I found myself a little teary-eyed at the end.

A quick read if you're ultimately looking for a feel-good story with a bit of humor and romance.

3.5. Cute easy read. Like the Thanksgiving episode of Gossip Girl. IYKYK.

5 stars!! i need everyone to read this book pls and thank you.

“To my parents, I’m basically a human version of an air plant. I’m alive and thriving, but they don’t really understand the science behind it.”

as soon as i read that and laughed out loud i knew this book was gonna be good. i want to be Nana Rosie when i’m old

Very entertaining, predictable, but laugh out loud funny. Wasn’t sure I would like it at the start but I did enjoy it.

good story

I enjoyed this book. The main character has a very dry sense of humor. And at times I had to chuckle because everyone can relate to some sort of holiday dysfunction.

Cute book. This isn’t a romance, more of chick lit.

Eh. I couldn’t care about the characters or what happened to them.

DNF but it wasn't the book's fault really. The personality of the fmc and some of the struggles she was having with her sister hit a little close to home and brought back some negative memories of being the one to have to cope with chaos created by others (much like the sister with the fmc). Well written and I think the premise was good, but I'm not the person to enjoy it.
