Kwan did it again! A little more soap opera dramatic this time but I loved that we got to see characters from the last book plus some new wild crazy rich Asians.

5/5!!

Without Rachel and Nick as the central focus (argue with me all you want; they definitely aren't the main focus anymore) this book just feels like a bunch of random vignettes instead of a cohesive narrative. And those vignettes aren't particularly interesting like in book one, the historical and societal insight felt very superficial which is hilariously ironic. The millennial humor also got on my nerves a bit after a while.

loved how they didn't focus too much on the romance

Not a big fan of this one, wanted more of Astrid and Charlie, and Nick and Rachel and less of everyone else. But I did love Carlton!

Very good and enriching read. Learned more and more about Asia’s culture and society! Just as good as the first book.
