I actually enjoyed this one a lot more than the first one! Perhaps I was unencumbered by the knowledge that the movie had given me for the first novel, but overall I found the plot to be more compelling, the new characters certainly brought some fun circumstances and CRAZY displays of wealth. Astrid is still the best character 10/10 love her. The scene with the Zara dress and the ancient bracelet really got me.
Me ha gustado bastante más de lo que me esperaba. He tenido momentos en los que el libro me fallaba por todas partes, pero otras veces ha sabido mantenerse a la altura de la primera novela y eso ha sido una maravilla.
Me ha pasado un poco como con el primero, me esperaba aún más drama tras el descubrimiento de Rachel, pero bueno, esta bastante a la altura. He echado mucho de menos que Nick hubiera tenido más controversia con su familia, al final apenas aparecen nombrados en un par de ocasiones, espero que todo esto ocurra en la tercera parte. También me ha faltado más interacción de los amigos de Rachel y Nick en el libro, apenas aparecen, nos los presentaron en el primer libro pero en este prácticamente no existen. El final me ha parecido demasiado acelerado para mi gusto y no me ha entusiasmado demasiado leerlo en formato "noticias", pero bueno, espero que el tercero resuelva todas las incógnitas que se han quedado un poco en el aire.

At first I was not sure that I was going to get into this book. These books can be a bit hard to follow at first due to the amount of characters and the back and forth of the story line. However, when I got back into the swing of it I found it to be an enjoyable read. Over the top in many ways but so easy to get lost in. I am looking forward to reading the finally installment of this trilogy and seeing what the book holds for Rachel and Nick.

China Rich Girlfriend, much like Crazy Rich Asians, is fun and pulpy, if not immaculately written. Kevin Kwan has made a sport out of finding new words to use to satirize the shopping habits of the rich, and that alone might be worth having to slog through a few extraneous story lines about side characters you keep forgetting to remember. It doesn't really matter that motivations are routinely puzzling and characterizations jet set around the map as frequently as the plot does. Because all that really matters is that you always need to turn that page to see what happens next. And the sheer volume of over-the-top ridiculousness bursting out of the last 70 pages of the book would put many a soap opera to shame.
