This is one of the first books from this author that I did not like the love story at all. The MCs were not likeable either. A lot of gaslighting and her entire personality was about him. Not for me at all. Side characters were also annoying and sad. Skim read the end just to get through it

I don't know if it was the subject of the book or just my own mental state but I teared up a few times.
I really enjoy this series of books.

4.5 stars. There was definitely potential for more drama with families etc here & I do feel it was missing *something* but overall I really liked it. Very emotional & lots of technically miscommunication trope but we only see them fixing the communication because all their issues come from before the book. I do feel like not all that much happened outside of their relationship but I think that’s because the last book added so much to the world. Lots of hints at world building here but nothing huge added. I loved that she was a healer & grew up with them etc she made dumb decisions from time to time but also understandable when you’ve grown up free to wander & get things for yourself etc so I wasn’t that mad
Unrequited love to requited love
Kiran was an interesting character, who had made some questionable decisions during his friendship with Maeva. Let’s be clear: a MC isn’t bad if he doesn’t return feelings for someone. But the way that character goes about letting the other person know says a lot about them. He effed up.
The two of them being in proximity to each other after so long apart was an interesting dynamic. I was a bit annoyed with the clear disregard of the FMC’s boundaries, but it was pretty par for the course for this series. They were cute together.
Spice: 3.5/5
Triggers: grief, violence, gore, bullying, child abandonment (off page)

Sweet, rough, emotional and passionate
Excellent slow burn novel by this author. The sexual tension intense just like I like it. It dwelled on the past a bit much but their renewed love made the wait worth it.

3.5 not my favorite but definitely gave me the same warm and tinglies as the other books
4.9 stars.
I am absolutely in love with Every Single book in this series.
I have come to really look forward to pretty much anything Zoey Draven releases, but this Horde King series has really captured my soul since the first book.
This was so freakin good!
I’m not usually a big fan of the of the second chance trope, but Kiran and Maeva’s story is just so freaking sweet, and heartwarming, and absolutely angst ridden. Plus I just could not miss out on the next horde king’s story.
I’m not gonna lie. I was a complete wreck throughout pretty much the entire book. I cried at the sweet things happening. I cried when the stressful things happened. I most certainly cried when the angsty sad shit happened.
The romance is so sweet and heartwarming. The tension between these two is sizzling. And the sex. All of these books have fantastically done sex scenes.
The plot was totally engrossing. Every time I pick up one of these books I get sucked right back into Dakkar. Zoey really has a talent for world building.
I mean there’s culture, language, politics, world wide problems, horde dynamic problems…it’s just so well done.
I’m impressed every single time.
And just like the last time, I’m sad to have already finished this newest addition.
We leave Kiran and Maeva at the end of this with something big brewing in the distance on their world and I’m just so pumped to dig deeper into it. Find out what Vorakkar is getting his Morakari next and how it’ll happen.
Really that’s the only reason this was a 4.9 star book for me. I’m just too upset to be finished with it. I want more.

YES this one was so much more than the previous book in the series and I'm glad I gave this one a shot. FYI, I didn't love the last one, and I'm not sure if I even finished it.
