Indie sf romance is sometimes doing really interesting things. This one is a fully-realized friends-to-lovers romance set against a fascinating and carefully-drawn alien world. Loved it.

The pacing and plot are so good, it might even be my new favorite in the series. The background history and current day plot was divided really well and I loved Maeve!
