i'm still really loving this series, but this is the weakest book so far in my opinion. While I did love K&M's story, there just wasn't much happening otherwise. I thought for sure M was going to figure out what was making the animals crazy when she was attacked on the forest, but no one ever figured out anything. & I was really hoping for another feast before the frost so M could offer her goblet to K, but that didnt happen either. Still very enjoyable, but i wished a few things had been different.

Maeva's second chance

This book is different from the rest because it is a second chance romance. I don't usually gravitate to them, but I liked this book. To be honest, the beginning of the book broke my heart. There is less spice in this book, but the depth of the feelings are more.

Unrequited love hurts.

I felt bad and embarrassed for Maeva for loving someone who most likely did not return her love. I hoped another horde king would sweep her off her feet.

This story was wonderful just like they all have been.
