Absolutely amazing! My friend, who lent me all Sarah Dessen books so far, said she enjoyed this one most, and I totally agree with her: I loved every character! So talented. You just got to read it.
Oh, and I read most of it in less than three hours. Just a small record, but I'm getting close to my old speeds.
edit: still cute, but not amazing

I first read this book back when I was in high school, but I've reread it so many times since then I've lost track of the actual number of times I've read it. I fell in love with it instantly as a teen, and even though I'm well past the targeted age group as a twenty-something, I found that Macy's story still grips my heart and speaks to me deeply.
I'll keep it short and sweet since this is a reread. The best way I can sum up this story is by saying that it's just so full of heart. From the sweet friendships that Macy develops through Wish to the Truths Macy and Wes share with each other, we get to see Macy grapple with her past and truly come into her own in a beautiful way. I laughed, I cried, and felt all the nostalgia as I fell in love with this story all over again. I can't recommend this book enough!

Moderate: Death of parent
Wow. I did not expect this reread to be a 5 star, considering I was meh about it the first time I read it years ago. The themes really resonated with me this time and I think this is the best book of Dessen's that I've read.
I read this book before in high school, but I didn’t really remember it all that well so I decided to read it again. I really enjoyed it. Needless to say I now have the urge to go back and read all her books that I’ve either missed or read but don’t remember.
One thing I particularly liked about this story was how the mother also changed and evolved by the end of the book. I feel that too often in contemporaries, it’s always the main character that learns some lesson, and the parents, partner, friend or whoever else has a problem never learns too. Even though Macy’s mom basically learned the same lessons that Macy did, I felt like she did learn it on her own, and it was because Macy had learned first then showed her mom. She definitely learned her own lesson her own way, and I really appreciated that it was done well.
I really liked Sarah’s writing style. She makes the story was so easy to fall into. I have always been able to just fall right into her world and follow the characters without checking what page I’m on constantly. Being able to just lose myself within a story is one of my favorite things, and I just haven’t been able to fall like this in a while. I definitely recommend if you are looking for a cute contemporary.

This was good! But if you’ve read one Sarah Dessen book, you’ve read them all
4.5 Stars
This might possibly be my favorite Sarah Dessen novel, although Lock and Key is right there with it.
All of the characters were extremely relatable, things were actually somewhat discussed and worked out instead of being glossed over, which I really appreciated.
The romance in this wasn't over the top, instead it was a steady build. Wes and Macy's game of Truth was fun and terrifying because I couldn't inagine being nearly as honest as they always were.
This book also had some great friendships, aside from any romantic interests. Macy and Kristy were genuine friends and it was nice that they never became jealous or ridiculous with each other. They were just real friends.
There are so many great aspects of this book. I could continue listing them for a long time. There were a few things that bothered me though. One was Monica. I really wish we had more insight into her character, what she was really like and why she was always so quiet. Another was Jason. He was a very problematic character and I wish that there had been some more discussion about how emotionally abusive he was being. Because he was. And finally, the ending. It was rather abrupt and would have been more satisfying with just a few more pages explaining how things were going, how Macy's mother was interacting with her friends, something. Still, it was a great book.

Really good book, great characters, it was a lot of fun, I really enjoyed it, and yeah, must read more!
I loved it! Such a great read.
I loved Macy, it was such a pleasure to see her opening up for love, new friends and possibilites, finally allowing herself to grieve.
The Wish team was just superb, although they weren't as developed as Macy.
The story showed us what could happen if you won't allow yourself to grieve (Macy's mom) or that "perfect" do not exist and it's fine (Macy). That there's more in you than just your rap sheet, that people cope with loss in a very different ways and it's also fine.
