A multifunctional book that can be enjoyed visually or audibly. Joe Pera knows his audience like the back of his hand.

Heh-heh, guess who won a partial ARC of this beloved new book coming soon? That's right, folks. Finally, we can get a book discussing the bathroom situation!

Sigh, for anyone who has social anxiety or social problems, we've all been there. If you've had something scary and stressful going on, you've probably gone straight to the bathroom. I remember back in elementary we were forced to do these presentations in my class. I just raised my hand and got to the bathroom. There I occupied myself in a stall for eternity (and awkwardly) as I hoped the period would pass by quickly. Alas, my teacher found me and took me back to class. Where, thankfully, I didn't have to present in the end.

Life is a struggle. And even more, if you're not good with the whole socializing thing. It's scary as fuck, to go out there and face your fears. I think this book is especially needed for us, the people who face these issues, in our day-to-day lives. It can show us that even though we're hiding in the bathroom, it's that single moment that counts.

And whether you decide to get out of the bathroom or stay in, you're safe in this bathroom. You don't have to worry. Life will still be life.

All in all, I rate this book five stars. I think we all, social problems or not, seriously need a book like this, right now in our lives. The pandemic has ruined things for us, that's for sure. We barely socialize anymore. Some of us are staying in our houses. Some of us are doing online school. Some of us have lost loved ones.

Whatever happens next, it's the single moment that counts. Make it count however you'd like :)

This is an audiobook that I will, like the bathroom at a crowded party, revisit many times.

Ok, the title got me. I thought this was going to be a nonfiction book about people using the bathroom as an escape (even though it's so short...). It's not. It's just a guy (the author) giving ppl hiding in the bathroom a pep talk, a sort of "it's ok to hide but you gotta leave at some point, here, let's do this to calm down". I guess it works?? But not for me

If you’re a fan of Joe Pera you’ll want the audio version. In a better world Joe Pera would provide the narration for every audio book.

A funny, light-hearted, and surprisingly soothing read. Exactly appropriate for the length of one wonderful bath or hiding-in-the-bathroom session.
