LOVE, love, love Black Dahlia based books ... and this does not disappoint. Sophie is back on the case ... and Bryan & Marnie are concerned. Bruce decides to go help, so Bryan can stick with the academy.

He's got it a bit easier, as the cops are expecting him on this one. He establishes himself as a bodyguard of sorts for Sophie, after her apartment is broken into. Together, they piece together the clues, with the uncomfortable realization it's someone connected to law enforcement ... and everyone seems to be suspect.

This is probably one of my very favorites in the series so far.

Entertaining and engaging on an exhausting night. Too tropey and a bit too predictable otherwise. I understand this is #25 in some series but this is the only one I've read. Still useful for remembering all the parts of good writing, foreshadowing and all that.

I love listening to Luke Daniels' narrations. He is a great storyteller. Looking through the library offerings of audiobooks narrated by him this series came up. I grabbed one at random since the full breadth of the series was not available. This was a good story made all the better by Mr. Daniels reading it. I will definitely continue listening to more books in this series.

This book is lame.
To be fair I was stuck waiting a long time (days) in the
Mayo Clinic and needed something to read. Bad
Choice for me.
This is a woman’s book, light and fluffy with a
Romance entanglement. I thought it would be
More akin to the Black Dahlia murder which is
Frequently referenced. Not really.
Slim characters, illogical plot, and to top it
Off, there are ghosts being talked to. Ugh.

Yeah, I loved seeing Sophie again, and as a lead! Great mystery, and another great romance! Can't wait for Brodie's story!
