Es el libro más crudo de la producción de Steinbeck que he leído hasta la fecha. Pese a ello, está escrito muy bien, los personajes son memorables y están bien caracterizados (pese a tener falta de profundidad) y es entretenido de incio a final.
Entiendo la crudeza y el mensaje que quiere mandar, pero me parece mejor contado en otras obras del mismo autor y no me parece una forma indicada de contar el mensaje. Pese a ello lo he disfrutado mucho, sobre todo el hecho de que el protagonismo de la novela sea colectivo.

quite a good book. I love Steinbeck anyways and this was a nice read since I hadn't already read it. It honestly feels like Steinbeck was horny the entire time he wrote this and there is no better way to put the way this book feels. Just constantly horny. Crazy.

I was really in my Steinbeck era in 2013 and dont even remember the ones that aren’t the greatest hits but there’s pages and pages of notes proving an alternate version of myself read this
Funny... listening to Richard Poe narrate this, I keep expecting bloodshed ala Cormac McCarthy... or the diner scenes from Sandman. Wonderful to have this crossover via Richard Poe's voice.

I love John Steinbeck, and this was the last of his books that I very recently read during a Steinbeck kick. It immediately had a bit of a different feel from the others that I had read, most noticeably, that it was definitely "juicier"-- Steinbeck seemed to be never far away from mentioning bodily fluids of one kind or another.
