This book inspired me to watch Brokeback Mountain for the first time in my life and there is no going back. I just can’t quit gay cowboy romance no more.
M.A. Wardell does MM romance like no other. He knows how to make the reader feel connected to the main characters really fast and invested in their stories. This is a part of a collective series written by multiple authors and I am so glad it started with this story because the author has a was of making you want to know more about the secondary characters who will have lead roles in the next books.
Boone and Wylie are sweet as molasses, and warm as cornbread. And yes, there are a lot of (and better) cowboy-ish similes and metaphors throughout the novella. I loved these characters and really look forward to reading more from this author!

I ADORE Wardell’s Teachers in Love series and had high hopes for this novella.
Unfortunately I didn’t enjoy this one. However, let me preface that I am not a fan of cowboy romance in general.
Boone and his siblings run a ranch that strives to be inclusive (I love that) when Wylie shows up to help out.
While I realize novella’s need to move more quickly, there isn’t any tension here. Other than Boone being the ranch cook and Wylie being a ranch hand, the two only seem to have one other character trait, and that is being gay. There wasn’t the depth I crave. I wasn’t invested, and I often felt the dialog to be awkward.
I think it’ll be more successful for people who love this genre.

The was such a sweet and perfect cowboy novella! Wylie and Boone were just what the other needed. I am excited to read the rest of the Rainbow Ranch series.
Read if you like cowboys, sweet treats, strangers to lovers, and silly horses.
*****
I received an ARC of this book, and this is my honest review

Associated Song: Will I Find My Home - Juniper Vale and Vian Izak
So the teachers in long series was on of the books that got me back onto reading. I remember purchasing it on amazon and reading it on the train and realising that the world of literature had changed so much since I fell into a reading slump which lasted 8 years !
Finding teacher of the year and Wardells work was like a warm (and very steamy hug)
Okay now stirring spurs? For my first cowboy romance , I couldn't imagine having any other starter book
With heavy themes of found family, it was so far up my street! The only downside of the book was that it was not long enough! But talking about the length of the book , it was written well and even with the shortness of the book, the characters were fleshed out well ! I cannot wait to read the rest of this series by the other authors

I absolutely L O V E D everything about this story. I had everything I love about an M.A. Wardell story in it. it was funny, it was spicy, it was emotional and it was overall developed really well, especially considering that it moved at a faster pace. I adored Boone and Wylie together. I think they were a perfect balance to each other and the low angst of this just had me giggling and kicking my feet.
I continue to enjoy every aspect of books from this author. I think they are writing about real, raw and relatable characters in a way that keeps me super engaged the entire time. Also, the Dennis and Noodle parts were EVERYTHING TO ME
The setting of this story was also great and I loved getting to see a bit about each sibling that we get a book about later in the month! I am absolutely going to be jumping right into those. This was a great example of being inclusive in a genre that people believe have very rigid standards (cowboys don't have to be the exact same archetype, friends!) and I am hopeful that with this book we get to see more of this exploration of beloved genres like cowboy romances.
Another amazing book by an amazing author.
I received an ARC from Grey's in exchange for an honest review.

This was an absolute delight!😍 Taking place in a world where people are allowed to be unabashedly themselves and love who they want to, it was a breath of fresh air. Boone and Wylie were so swoony, and the idea of them getting their HEA makes me so happy.💘 I can't wait to read the other books that take place at Rainbow Ranch!
Thank you so much to Grey’s Promotions for an ARC of Stirring Spurs. As someone who has been in their cowboy era for a while now, the genre needs more queerness and this book delivered. I love the MMCs and their dynamic so much (almost as much as I love Noodles). I’m so excited for the rest of the series.

What an absolutely delightful cowboy romance.
Boone Adams and his siblings took over the family ranch, which they lovingly renamed Rainbow Ranch, after they lost their parents. An inclusive and friendly ranch where everyone is welcome and the animals are treated with care.
Boone is the ranch chef, making warm hearty meals with love. He's always caring for his family and friends but doesn't often think of himself and what he needs.
That is until Wylie Anderson shows up. Wylie, a bit of a horse whisperer, moves from ranch to ranch, helping out and never staying in place in one place too long as to not get too attached to anyone.
The two meet and it's instant chemistry. Boone's sunshine to Wylie's grumpy, they're a match made in ranch heaven.
This story is a lows stakes, positive romance with minimal drama. There is a little bit angst but overall this story is mostly positive. The whole family is so loving and care so much about each other. And the animals have their own amazing personalities. I'd step in front of a train for Noodles.
There's also some great spice in the story. The two fall fast and hard for each other and I'm here for it.
This is the first cowboy/western romance I've read and it was so much fun. I love all the cowboy hats, boots and everyone putting in a hard days works. The family was much more affectionate than I'm used to and all the "cowboy" talk was a little different, but very charming.
This was a short and sweet novel that is a perfect bite when you're looking for something sweet, romantic and fun. I didn't know I'd enjoy cowboys so much!
