This book was cute with some spooky scenes.

After a break up Annie moves from her apartment in New York City to the small village of Rowan. Here she struggles with finding herself, but with the help of her new friend Sophie she starts to see the light or rather the magic.

I feel like Cackle touched on how society has created this image that women have to get married or be with someone to be happy. That they can’t be happy being single and alone.

Ralph stole the show and made the book enjoyable!

it took me a second to get into it, but i think that was more about all of the madness of the new year than the book itself, although i wasn’t sure of the writing style to begin with. BUT i loved it! it was absolutely not what i was expecting, even slightly. and i think that might’ve been what i didn’t get on with very well in the first 60ish pages. this was incredible, it made me rethink the same things so many times, stuck in the characters indecision and confusion. i so often find myself shouting at the characters in books because the right path for them is so obvious, so i was very happy to be confused along with annie. definitely recommend if you want a surprisingly dark small town visit.
