The ending was a bit disappointing it just feels like the author didn't know how to end it so he rushed through it. That being said, I really enjoyed the book up until the last 50 pages even though it was very tense and hard to read sometimes.

not a MUST-own for me, but definitely one I’d recommend to friends and would grab if I found it at the thrift.

"Are you SURE?" asks the doctor. Disulfiram, the alcoholism medication, "makes you very, very Asian."

Side effects include emasculating the men, fetishizing the dragon ladies, and getting attacked with postcolonial racism from 99% of the contemporary UK books I read.

I couldn't get into the first 2 JP Delaney/Anthony Capella books I tried, and I stuck through this one only to hear him aggress an entire race.

Wow wow wow!!! This is so much more than just a swapped at birth story and I enjoyed the heck out of it. I get so absorbed into books where the good honest people can't catch a break and doing things the right way blows right up in their face. I get so angry at the antagonist that I can hardly see straight and I can't wait to see the protagonists come out on top. FYI - Mark Edwards has a couple of books that have this theme and he does it well. So many things happen that just keep digging the hole deeper and deeper for this poor couple and I totally felt for them and their plight. Unfortunately for them, no good deed goes unpunished and good guys finish last. I was draped in sympathy for the two of them and their commitment to trying to do the right and noble thing. The devious things that happened to them just made me want to rip through this book to see how it ends. I wasn't disappointed. An anguishing, but thoroughly entertaining read!

Now , did I take the psychopath test in the book? Yes.
Yes I did.

And that was a close call 😳

Now for my thoughts ,
I just didn't get the kick out of it. That's all.

With thrillers/mysteries that are based on a sole twist , it's either you like it or you don't.
And I personally wasn't too shocked with the twist.
And I thought some parts were too convenient just because it would be easier for the book.

Switched at birth but make it a thriller! I listened to the audiobook for this book and I think that made it better. The audiobook was very easy to follow, which is often not the case. The beginning of this book was slow. This was an 11 hour book and I was kinda bored till hour 5. It wasn’t really much of a “twisty” book - which is fine, sometimes twists can really cheapen a book. This was my first fiction audiobook and while I did enjoy it, it wasn’t a must listen.
