4.5 could not put it down, read it straight through, was so invested and felt so much for what they were going through. Only had one tiny gripe with it
Spoiler
did she have to be a psychopath too? was that really necessary? she could have just killed the guy to protect her sons and I would be like, hell yes without her having to have psycho traits

I think I was expecting the book to be about how the child is a psycho, like “We need to talk about Kevin” type book. It was partly about that. More about adult psychos. And court cases. It was just so much back and forth about court cases and all that. I just didn’t enjoy it that much. The ending did save it slightly. But just barely. Just felt a bit rushed and certain things were added to give that final shock factor but it just seemed so far fetched 🤦🏻♀️ took my a good two months to finish it. I really had to force myself to get through it 🙈

What would you learned your 2yo child was switched at birth? That's the central premise of this domestic thriller.
Those who love thrillers like Girl on the Train or movies like Unfaithful or What Lies Beneath might enjoy this one. You cannot tell who is a reliable narrator or whether anyone's mental faculties are compromised in the midst of a very realistic dilemma.
Dual POV and dual narrators made this a fun one to do in audiobook format. My only struggle with this one was the pacing. The middle got a touch repetitive and slow.
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐.75
