Wow! Could NOT put this book down, even though my anxiety was rising with every page. SO clever, intricately planned out and excellent characters! Will definitely be reading more from JP Delaney! Thank you Netgalley and the publisher!

This book!!!!!!!! I cannot fathom how hooked I was to the story. I was hating and doubting every character and it just kept me wanting more. I loved the different perspectives of the book between Pete and Maddie and the extra bits just made it even better. The story started and ended so strongly, it was such an amazing thriller.
I loved loved loved it.

First off, let me say that I'm so grateful for NetGalley as my last few reads from them have been amazing!
I wasn't sure if I would love Playing Nice when I first read the summary. Swapped baby stories are done so often, how would this one bring anything new to the table?
The answer is substance, my friends. This book had so much more than a few swapped babies. The characters weren't ordinary in the least bit. They were flawed. They had mental illnesses. They had addictions. They lied. They cheated. They killed. Most importantly, they felt real.
I was engrossed by the very first page. I loved the writing, I loved the psychology of it all, I loved the way the Court records were share with the reader. I really can't say a single bad thing about it.
Now I want to forget it all so I can read it all over again for the first time.

Thriller and family drama mixed into one book. Pete answers the door one day to find out his son isn't really his. Craziness ensues and a nightmare begins. I stayed up way too late finishing this book. So good.
I wanted to cry so many times during this book. The optimistic family and the demonic dad is the best way I can describe this debacle. Two years is a looooong time with a child. So much bonding takes place during that time, especially with a first child. Once again, the ending tied up a little too perfectly, but that's honestly more than I hoped for at times. Definitely worth the read and the anguish along the way.
