3.5* A short, sweet and emotional exploration of class, privilege and the strength of true friendship.

Whilst I do think this is better targeted at a younger audience (maybe 11-13ish?) rather than YA and felt more like a short story or an anthology entry, this was a quick, enjoyable and fun read and one I happily spent a lunch break with.

TW: child neglect, neglectful parent, sexual harassment

Honestly this book is so amazing I loved the emotional book in such a short amount of time. I loved the difference in two people and I feel that the emotional abuse that is shown isn’t glossed over and how different people live differently

Weirdly fast, no real hijinks while body swapped, it would have been a lightheartedway to lead into the darker events.

Everything gets solved too quickly.
Rich family takes a girl from her mum with mental health needs by threatening social services -
2 years passes we find the rich family has helped the mum for last year, leaving her for a year with no support, and her children removed.
No contact has been made with mother and daughter for two years or the siblings, one sibling going into care. Feels illegal, like it was written by a child with no research of legal system.

What's not to love? A class-based, teenage, British Freaky Friday retelling by Candice Carty-Williams? Sign me up. There's a lot packed into this tiny novella, and the two central characters will stay with me. This book is a great example of why I still dip back into YA fiction.
