The beginning of this book absolutely had me. Tara being so poor she had to “steal” food was such a good storyline, but the book was done over several years and my connection with the characters dimmed as it went on. I hated Preston and his treatment of her. I also didn’t feel the love he claim to have for her the whole time. I love an asshole hero, but I didn’t get enough from his perspective to see that he really cared about her all that much.

100% segura de que leí este libro (que además se parece un montón a la película del mismo nombre) pero no me acuerdo en que año fue

4 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was a fun, fairly light office romance that was both funny and interesting. I've always really liked this author, and although it wasn't my favorite of hers (that will likely always be [b:Reasonable Doubt: Full Series|23127232|Reasonable Doubt Full Series (Reasonable Doubt, #1-3.25)|Whitney G.|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1429805735s/23127232.jpg|42675478]), I still enjoyed myself the whole time I was reading it. In true Whitney G fashion, the banter between the MCs was the best part of the reading experience!

“I’ll take my coffee with you on all fours tomorrow morning.”
“What did you just say?”
“You heard me.”

The best part of this story was the 'meet-cute', which was original and hilarious. Preston is the CEO of the number one luxury hotel chain in the world, and Tara is a law-school grad struggling to not only get a job, but also to eat and pay rent. After their unfortunate meeting, Preston hires Tara as his executive assistant. Right away, the sexual tension swells to combustible levels. Preston is an asshole, but Tara can't help being attracted to him. She also hates him, and I couldn't entirely blame her for it. That being said, I thought she was hard on him at times. I really liked Tara for the most part, but she did have a tendency to be ungrateful. He was an awfully demanding boss, but she was well-compensated and had amazing perks and benefits to go along with the job. I almost felt like she had forgotten where she came from. That being said, Preston could've done a better job of showing her how important she was to him.

I actually found the detailed ins-and-outs of the hotel industry to be quite informative. Still, the slow-burn of their relationship seemed a little long and drawn-out at times. I also thought the explanation behind Preston's coldness would be a little more shocking. He didn't really have the skeletons in his closet that I was imagining, and so his asshole behavior wasn't really excused. However, since I felt like Tara could be a brat at times, it didn't ruin the book for me. Plus, it just made it all the more special when he started to change. There's an unexpected twist towards the end, and it worked to humanize Preston... which was badly needed. All-in-all, this was a sexy, fun book with great banter and even better sex!

“Inappropriate work email aside,” he said, “you need to tell your boyfriend to work on his vocabulary. If he’s really so concerned about helping you de-stress whenever you’re free from your terrible-ass boss, then he should just say, I want you to sit on my face so I can eat your pussy until you come in my mouth, until the only thing you’re able to think about is how good my tongue feels when it’s sucking on your dripping wet clit. And the next time you get a break, you should invite me into your office so I can bend you over the desk and let your pussy feel just how hard my cock gets whenever I’m thinking about you.”

When you're in love with your boss, it's hard to do your job...but you do it. When your boss is in love with you but won't tell you, it makes it harder. I love the chemistry between the characters in this book! Whitney is amazing author.
