Woah. This one was an impressive multi-level complex mystery spun by James Patterson. As I sit to write this review, my mind is spinning while I work to parse through the layers of characters, storylines, and twists on twists. The short of it is that the main character, Alex Cross, is working to find a serial killer - while his wife is hired by an unknown client to investigate a corrupt fashion mogul. I did appreciate that in between the many intense scenes, Patterson really charmed me with his protagonists and their relatable and lovely interactions with one another. I did also like the short chapters, though it meant I couldn’t out this one down and lost several hours of sleep this week to reading it!

My favourite James Patterson characters and series, so what's not to love. I'm not a fan of the alternating chapters. I can't wait for the next story to see what happens to M and Maestro.
