i was not expecting this to be a slow burn???? i think that was interesting, considering the book is only 302 pages long and kinda wish they would have gotten together sooner. anyways, wesley and maybell are my new favorite book couple, they complemented each other so well. both of them were also very relatable.
This was one of my fav feel good books to read this year! I loved the authenticity and banter with which Maybell and Wesley were written. It was the perfect book for a rainy day
I found this book when I was searching for grumpy male MCs and this is what I found. I really enjoyed this book. It starts off kind of eyebrow raising because Violet leaves Maybell and Wesley with the house with basically no money. However, they end up making do.
I think that Wesley really made this book. He suffers from social anxiety and whole host of other fears. It’s very wholesome to see him come out of his shell. The one problem I have is that at certain points it seems like his social anxiety falls away when it’s…time for sexy time. Maybe I just want a slow burn where Maybell actively helps him overcome his anxiety however it was a tad distracting. I would have also just liked to see…well…more. I would have liked to meet his family, and see more of the hotel coming together.
For the most part, it was a very a wholesome book.
