This was so cute!!

I didn't know what I was expecting, all I knew was that I love the author and I was excited to finally get to read this book, and I loved it! Th e characters are grumpy/sunshine and I haven't read that trope in a while but it was so refreshing and so nice to read. Reading about a character with anxiety is hard because of how uncomfortable they feel during certain times and I think that Sarah Hogle did an amazing job with Wesley and his anxiety throughout the book!

Can't wait for more books from you Sarah!

Wanted more of Sarah Hogle after reading "You Deserve Each Other" but sadly this didn't hit like I thought it would. Wesley as an MC just wasn't doing it for me 80% of the time, so it was hard to get into the story. Maybell was also a little inconsistent, and I would've appreciated some internal dialogue from her on the absurdity of her situation and her response to it.

Two stars are for the way Sarah Hogle writes a truly vulnerable male lead. I like how the female MC doesn't try to knowingly or unknowingly "fix" the male MC, like you would see in any popular grumpy x sunshine story or anything spat out by Ana Huang. That stuff gets really boring really fast for me, so leads like Wesley and Nicholas are refreshing with their self-awareness and emotional intelligence. Even if Wesley wasn't the thing I was looking for, some aspects of his character were really stand-out. I love this vibe and I wish I had an convenient list to consult to read more of this same thing.

4!! This is a cinnamon roll book so sweet snd everything I needed while also more complex than I though it would be at the beginning. Yes it’s a little cheesy with some daydream sequences but loved it :)

Dont get me wrong, the book isn't groundbreaking or super duper amazing but it was an enjoyable read, no useless drama and I actually kind of liked both main characters? Maybell was a bit annoying but I got over it quickly because I've seen worse :)
