This book was so sweet! And I’ve seen that word pop up in almost every review I’ve read about this book, but there’s no better word to sum it up!
I absolutely loved reading about Maybell and Wesley. Maybell’s inner monologue had me giggling to myself so many times throughout the book, and she’s just such a joy to read from.

I was expecting to DNF this one- the beginning wasn’t pulling me in and it seemed tacky (tacky romances are absolutely not my thing, and I’ve only DNF 1 book before, so it takes a lot for me to stop reading). BUT about halfway through the childish hatred the two main characters had for each other slowed down and we finally were able to move along with the plot. It ended up being a super cute story, with many thoughtful moments from Wesley, but until Wesley and Maybell started getting along, maybell was absolutely unbearable.
I probably will not recommend this book to anyone nor would i read it again, but it was cute, much cuter than I thought it could be at the start.

Ugh! This book tells the tale of two strangers, an exceptionally grumpy introverted man and an overly optimistic despite a lifetime of detrimental experiences woman being thrust together into forced proximity when they jointly inherit an estate. Naturally they do not agree on how to handle said estate and the resulting story was amazing. Loved it.
Definitely a new automatic read author.
