“Of course I’ve been lying. I’m a politician.”
This was a perfect vacation read. I laughed out loud many times, but the story still managed to have a somewhat emotional and shocking finale. I loved the word choices (although that might be thanks to the wonderful translator) and the comments from the writers. Although I guessed who the main villain was, I didn't figure out anything else and I had no idea how the story would end, despite it being the lighthearted charming supernatural chaos that it was.
Overall, I'd say I even enjoyed this book better than My Lady Jane, something I didn't think was even possible.

I loved this book. It was so much fun! If you have read Jane Eyre, you will love it even more.
I must admit that I enjoyed this book more than My Lady Jane, and that is definitely because of the characters of Charlotte and Mr. Blackwood. They were such fantastic characters! And Helen. She had some great moments.
This is such a well done weaving of mysteries and ghost stories with some good comedy and a hint of romance. And I loved it. I wish I could be dropped into this book... ghosts and all!

There is a paragraph that is a Harry Potter reference. It doesn't name Harry Potter, but if you have read the books or seen the movies, the reference will be apparent.brookey8888's review against another edition

I really enjoyed this! I was a little nervous because once again I know nothing about Jane Eyre and Charlotte Brontë. I just really liked the humor in this and how they kind of relate it to the world now. I also like how the authors jump in to say something. I liked all the characters and the ghosts. I think Helen was my favorite though.
